Axios, an online news publication, has created a series of visualizations tracking the prices of eggs in the United States. One visualization uses Google Trends data from 2023 to show the most searched for topic in the question, “why are ______ so expensive?” According to the visualization, in 2013, top searches included 23 different products, such as gas and pistachios; however, in 2023, eggs were the most popular search topic in every U.S. state and the District of Columbia.
