Georgios Karamanis, a data visualization designer in Sweden, has created a visualization tracking the popularity of music genres in the United States since 1960. The visualization shows the music genres of every song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in different colors. According to the visualization, rock, disco, and soul were popular from 1965 to 1990 whereas pop, contemporary country, rap, and trap music are most popular today.
