The Wall Street Journal has created a series of visualizations comparing access to COVID-19 testing sites in the United States based on the urbanization and income level of counties. One graph shows that rural counties make up the greatest share of U.S. regions without testing sites. For instance, 14.5 percent of rural counties lacked access to a single COVID-19 testing compared to 1.75 percent of urban counties in December. Another visualization shows that more rapid testing sites are located in affluent areas within a county. For example, in Wayne County, Michigan, 76.5 percent of zip codes with rapid testing sites are those where the median income is above the county’s median.

Take a look.
